Sustainability Organizations
The Climate Solutions Accelerator is an inclusive, nonpartisan 501(c)(3) nonprofit dedicated to inspiring and facilitating a large-scale climate mobilization in the nine-county Genesee-Finger Lakes Region. Their goal is to create a healthier, more equitable, and regenerative community by catalyzing local efforts to eliminate greenhouse gas emissions and address the effects of climate change.
The CSA is Color Irondequoit Green's parent group.
We are the local chapter of The Climate Reality Project within the Finger Lakes Greater Region of New York State. This region includes the cities of Binghamton, Syracuse, Ithaca, Elmira, Corning and Rochester and areas in-between. The chapter includes trained Climate Reality Leaders and interested community members. We are part of the New York State Coalition of Climate Reality Chapters and fall within the Northeast US Region of the US Branch. Our region includes parts of six US Congressional Districts.
Sustainable Finger Lakes (formerly “Sustainable Tompkins”) is a community-based organization whose mission is to promote the long-term well-being of our region by integrating social equity, economic vitality, ecological stewardship, and shared responsibility.
We offer this web platform with its Map of over 700 sustainability-minded organizations as a shared resource for activists, innovators, and entrepreneurs to find each other, discover resources in nearby communities, and organize more effectively around issues of community development. This will be a place to share your news and upcoming events, send out Calls for Action on diverse issues, and celebrate each other’s contributions to a better future.
